ABG Commercial Realty Represents Landlord in Lease of 5,877 SF in Somerville’s Davis Square

SOMERVILLE, MA, UNITED STATES, September 29, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — ABG Commercial Realty, a boutique commercial real estate brokerage serving Greater Boston, has represented the landlord in the lease of the entire 5,877 square feet at 49 Day Street in Somerville’s Davis Square to Curiosity Brewing Company LLC. The tenant plans to open a brewery, taproom, and all-day cafe at the property in spring 2027.

Bernard Gibbons and Ana Oliveira of ABG Commercial Realty represented the landlord, New Day Properties LLC, in the transaction.

Formerly an auto body facility that most recently operated as office space, 49 Day Street is situated in the core of Davis Square, within walking distance of the MBTA Red Line and near prominent regional dining destinations including Sacco’s/American Flatbread and Redbones Barbecue. Curiosity Brewing’s plan calls for a taproom and patio accommodating approximately 120 guests, complemented by a production brewhouse.

The Somerville retail submarket remains one of the tightest in Greater Boston. According to CoStar, vacancy stands at 1.3%, roughly half the regional average of 2.6% and the eighth lowest of 47 submarkets, with no retail space currently under construction. The submarket absorbed approximately 49,800 square feet over the past twelve months, the seventh highest total in the region, while the broader Boston market recorded negative net absorption of approximately 371,000 square feet. Curiosity Brewing is led by Nick DeFae, a Somerville-based data scientist and award-winning homebrewer, who will focus on low-ABV and experimental New England-style IPAs alongside an all-day coffee bar. Veteran brewer Bryan Daly, formerly of Definitive Brewing Company in Portland, Maine, will oversee production. Local architecture firm ASK+ is designing the buildout.
