Exchange Traded Concepts and Kiwoom Securities (USA) Inc. Launch the First fund for the KICK ETFs series, KCHP, Offering Focused Access to Korea’s Semiconductor Leaders
PR Newswire
OKLAHOMA CITY, Sept. 15, 2026
The KICK Korea Semiconductor Index ETF brings Korea’s ecosystem of memory, equipment, materials, foundry and chip-design into a single U.S.-listed fund.
OKLAHOMA CITY, Sept. 15, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Exchange Traded Concepts, LLC (“ETC”) today announced, in partnership with Kiwoom Securities (USA) Inc., the launch of the KICK Korea Semiconductor Index ETF (NYSE Arca: KCHP), a fund designed to give U.S. investors targeted access to Korea’s globally significant semiconductor industry.
KCHP seeks to track, before fees and expenses, the price and yield performance of an index composed of 20 semiconductor companies listed on the Korea Exchange. The portfolio reaches across the Korean chip value chain, including memory, foundry, equipment, materials, packaging and design. It is anchored by two companies at the center of the advanced-memory technologies supporting artificial intelligence and data-center growth, Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix.
U.S. investors can buy and sell shares through a standard brokerage account without opening a foreign account or trading directly on the Korea Exchange. The Fund’s underlying holdings are denominated in Korean won (₩), so returns are also affected by changes in the won-dollar exchange rate.
“Korea has built one of the world’s most important and specialized semiconductor ecosystems but gaining focused access to that market has historically been difficult for many U.S. investors,” said Garrett Stevens, Co-Founder and Chief Business Officer of Exchange Traded Concepts. “KCHP brings that opportunity into a familiar ETF structure, pairing exposure to established global leaders with companies operating throughout the broader supply chain, and we are excited to be working with Kiwoom Securities (USA) Inc. to introduce this strategy to the U.S. market.”
“Korea’s semiconductor industry runs deeper than many investors outside the country realize,” said Yoon Gu Eric Lee, President and Chief Executive Officer of Kiwoom Securities (USA) Inc. “Memory and foundry draw most of the attention, but the equipment, materials and design companies that supply them account for a substantial part of the industry, and the Index is designed to include them.”
The Index uses a modified market-capitalization weighting methodology that limits how much of the portfolio any single constituent can represent. This construction is intended to preserve meaningful exposure to Korea’s largest semiconductor companies while also representing specialized businesses across the industry’s supporting infrastructure. Unlike broad South Korea equity funds, KCHP is focused specifically on the semiconductor value chain.

Investing involves risk, including possible loss of principal. Because the Fund is “non-diversified,” it may invest a greater percentage of its assets in the securities of a single issuer or a lesser number of issuers than if it were a diversified fund, which may increase volatility. The Fund concentrates its investments in the semiconductor industry, which may be significantly affected by intense competition, rapid product obsolescence, capital equipment cycles, supply and demand imbalances, and pricing volatility. The Fund invests in securities of issuers located in the Republic of Korea and is subject to political, economic, regulatory, currency, settlement, custody, and market-structure risks greater than those of U.S. or geographically diversified investments. The Fund’s holdings are denominated in Korean won. Changes in the value of the won relative to the U.S. dollar may adversely affect the value of the Fund’s investments. The Fund may be subject to foreign withholding taxes, which may reduce returns. Korean markets trade during hours that do not overlap U.S. trading hours, which may increase premium/discount volatility and bid/ask spreads.
The Fund normally invests in securities comprising the Index. Under normal circumstances, the Fund invests at least 80% of its net assets (plus the amount of any borrowings for investment purposes) in securities comprising the Akros Korea Semiconductor Index. The universe of eligible Index components consists of all the common stocks in the Korean Semiconductor Industry that are included in the Korea Composite Stock Price Index (KOSPI) and KOSDAQ (Korea Securities Dealers Automated Quotations) that have a minimum market capitalization of at least $200 million USD, a three-month average daily traded value of at least $1 million USD. No individual security will have a weight of more than 20% of the Index, and the Index will limit concentration of index constituents such that the sum of constituents of 4.5% weight or greater will not exceed 45% of the Index. The Fund may not track the Index precisely due to fees, expenses, transaction costs, timing differences, and regulatory limitations.
